Buhle Moletsane
Buhle Moletsane burst onto the scene after winning former Top Billing presenter Jo-ann Strauss’ very first online presenter search in 2011. She was seasoned & mentored by Ms Strauss & her partners including the bold & brilliant Bonang Matheba & formidable businesswoman Carol Bouwer, who appeared on the cover of Destiny Mag with Miss Moletsane & has continued guiding her to this day.
In 2012 after inspiring Jo-ann’s Glambition, Buhle appeared as a guest presenter on the show which opened numerous doors for her. She became the on-site correspondent for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week that year – interviewing the likes of Jen Su, Nkhensane Nkosi, Ursula Stephens who styles Rihanna & fashion week stakeholders who later praised Buhle for her attractive personality & professionalism.
Miss Moletsane also became the PONDS Spokesperson for Unilever & part of her role was to travel across the country to 124 high schools, educating young women on grooming, hygiene & self-love. Meeting disadvantaged youth touched Buhle so much that she continued communicating with them beyond her PONDS duties. She began by donating matric dance dresses, essentials & toiletries to the young women, then furthered her engagement through a book club which she founded because it’s through information & education that these young ladies can overcome their unfortunate circumstances….
Realising her love for human connection & communication, Buhle ventured into radio in 2014, hosting & producing content on The Lunch Box, a midday show at UNISA FM. She went to TransAfrica Radio a year later to reach a bigger audience & hone her skill. 2014 was good to Buhle as it presented acting opportunities too for the young talent. She began her acting career on Generations by playing Ntombenhle, then she joined the Majakathata family on SABC 2 playing Kimmy a young wife to a stupidly rich businessman. She played Lerato in a Don’t Look Down film titled Dancing Divas before auditioning for the role of Zinzi on ETV’s Rhythm City. Though she didn’t get that role, her ability to hold an audience captive saw the production creating a whole new character specifically for her. Buhle became Refilwe in 2015 (which she still plays) & in 2016 her biggest role came in the form of Gabisile on Mzansi Magic’s Greed & Desire. The character was initially meant to appear for a few episodes but Buhle has an amazing knack for keeping audiences yearning for more, so her character was developed further & Buhle played Gabi until the Season’s end. At the moment Buhle is Phumla on ETV’s Harvest, she’s launched her soul-DJ career & is coming out with her own brand of hair soon.
